A year ago Christmas, my friend Elizabeth's dear friend, Matthew, lost his three daughters in an unspeakable tragedy. Soon after, Matthew decided to champion his incredibly artistic daughters' memories by starting a fund in their name - a fund that supports arts in public schools.
As a parent of public school educated children and the daughter of a public school educator (my mother has taught art, theatre, music and science in public schools for more than twenty years) as well as a former student who believes that an education without art isn't an education, this cause is very personal to me. (ED: This video is amazing.)
I've spent the last year hearing all about Matthew and his girls and am so excited to support them and their cause. I hope some of you will join us in Pasadena on Sunday December 2nd, 1-4pm with your children to create art, listen to music, support arts education and celebrate the lives of three incredible little girls.
I'll be there with my family, crafting it up and (thanks to Universal Music group) dancing to Karmin (live!) who... I mean... come on with this amazingness, am I right? Tickets are on sale, here for $25 per person (kids 2 and under are free) or you can reserve your tickets and purchase them at the door, here.

Sounds like a really great cause! I wish I lived local so I could have come but I'll definatley check out the website. I hope that the event goes really well and lots of money is raised : ). Xx
